ABSTRACT
This study is carried out to ascertain the perception and attitude of married women on the family planning programme using Oredo LGA in Edo State . The study adopted the survey research design with questionnaire as the instrument. Using convenience sampling method Two Hundred (200) Questionnaires were administered to married women in five(5) selected towns in Oredo LGA of Edo State of which one hundred and ninety-three (193) were retrieved and validated for the study. Data was analyzed using frequency and table which provided answer to the research questions. Findings from the study reveals that that cultural beliefs, religion, level of education level, geographical location, socio-economic status, and Husband's decision are factors that shapes the perceptive of women in adopting or rejecting family planning programme. The study therefore recommends among others that Husbands in Oredo should be enlightened properly by health care providers on the benefits of accepting modern family planning.
